Mayor West: Does it sounds like I’m on Old Time Radio?
As I brought to your attention the free public domain movies I’ve also come across some “Old Time Radio” that is also public domain. These are from back in the day when most people still didn’t even have black and white televisions and families would gather around their radios to listen to stories being told over them.
The list includes many of the greats such as Abbot and Costello, The Green Hornet, Gunsmoke and War of the Worlds. Interesting side note, the War of the Worlds [wiki] when it first came out was listened to by about six million people and about 1.7 million either ignored or did not catch the opening credits, since the story was played out like a news broadcast these people believed the story to be true and caused a bit of panic, but not as much as the newspapers that had picked up the stories had claimed.

If you ever get a chance to, listen to the old audio recording of the original War of the Worlds. It’s pretty good, and people throught it was really happening when they heard it on the radio.
